GECAT
Modeler Cycle Tab The GECAT Modeler
Cycle Tab displays a cycle diagram consisting of icons that represent
components, lines that depict flows, and shafts that connect the
various engine components. The Cycle Tab view is a drag and drop
interface that allows the user to add or subtract, and orient
components in many different configurations. GECAT Modeler
currently supports the following TERMAP components: Split Fan Inlet,
Fan, Compressor, Burner, Turbine, Bleed, Reentry, Reheat, Duct,
Splitter, Mixer, Nozzle, Heat Exchanger, Fuel Heater, and Fuel Expander.

GECAT Modeler New Model Window
When creating a
new project in GECAT Modeler, the New Model window allows the user to
select from several simple engine cycle templates, TERMAP User's Manual
cycle examples, and custom defined cycle templates. The New Model
and Save As Template windows can be accessed from the File menu item on
the GECAT Modeler main menu.

In GECAT Modeler,
a tree control is used to organize all aspects of the engine modeling
cycle. The tree contains all cases, engine components, graphs,
maps, tables, engine report, trade studies and several TERMAP
categories. Selecting an item in the tree will switch the view to
the tab that is associated with the selected item. GECAT Modeler Project Tree
GECAT Modeler Project Wizard
To the novice,
using TERMAP can be a daunting task. Because of this, GECAT
Modeler has a Wizard control that provides the user with a step by step
checklist of required and optional steps to define a cycle such as
creating a trade study, building compressor maps, and on-design and
off-design data matching. Selecting the item in the Wizard
control animates the cursor, moving the cursor about performing the
sequence of steps necessary to navigate to the intended window in the
GECAT Modeler user interface.

Variable Windows
GECAT Modeler contains
a dockable output window that displays the results
of a cycle analyzation. The results contain the number of
errors and warnings, and a description of each. The watch
variable window allows the user to watch selected output values.
